Accessories Overview
3 Button Control Pad

The original control pad that came packaged with the system. Provides a nice comfortable fit to the hands and is quite responsive too. There are two versions available, one with a grey start button, the other with a red start button.

Original R.R.P. £14.99

Mega-fire Control Pad

Same as the original 3 button control pad but with the addition of auto-fire switches. Handy if you’re a fan of shoot ‘em ups.

Original R.R.P. Unknown

6 Button Control Pad

Featuring 6 fire buttons and an improved D-button which responds better than the original pad. Released mainly for the benefit of Street Fighter II players, for which it really is an essential item. The pad is slightly smaller than the original and takes some getting used to at first, but once you do you’ll wonder how you ever used the original pad.

Original R.RP. £14.99

Arcade Power Stick

Not a fan of pads? Then here’s the stick that you’ve been waiting for! Very responsive and ideal for most games. This is the controller of choice for arcade fans and quite a few gamer friends of mine swear by them.

Original R.R.P. Unknown

Arcade Power Stick II

Replacement for the original Arcade Power Stick. 6 buttons and a very responsive joystick make it ideal for Street Fighter players who want the real arcade experience. Each button has an adjustable auto-fire switch, so it’s pretty good for shoot ‘em ups too.

Original R.R.P. £34.99

Controller Extension Lead

Is your TV too far away from the couch? Fed up of sitting on the floor to play your games? Then this Extension lead is ideal for you. Does exactly what it says on the tin, not much more I can say about it really.

Original R.R.P. Unknown

Infra-Red 6 Button Control Pads

The package consists of an infra-red receiver and two infra-red 6 button control pads. Great idea and just as responsive as the standard 6 button pads, but not ideal if you have small children/pets who keep wandering in front of the receiver.

Original R.R.P. £39.99

Sega Tap

Four player adapter that plugged into one controller port enabling you to play four player games. If there were more good four player games available for the Megadrive then this would be a must have. Worth buying if you’re a fan of Gauntlet IV. Original R.R.P. £24.99

The Menacer

This chunky light-gun controller comes with an infra-red receiver which sits on top of your TV, a variety of gun bits, such as a stock for aiming and a rather pointless pair of binoculars, and a 6-game cartridge offering a variety of rainy day mini games. Also requires 6 batteries which weren’t originally packaged with the gun Lack of software prevented the Menacer from ever really taking off, with only two games- Terminator 2 and Bodycount- being released for use with the gun. Only worth buying for a bit of novelty or for the serious collector.

Original R.R.P. £29.99

Sega Mouse

The mouse is quite easy to use and looks rather smart, but there aren’t many titles programmed to accept it. By no means an essential, but fans of Populous II and Powermonger may find it a great addition to there collection.

Original R.R.P. £29.99

Power Base Converter

An absolutely essential item. This great add-on plugs into your Mega Drive’s cartridge slot and turns it into a Sega Master System. Adds a few more hundred titles to the list of games for you to track down, but there is some real classics out there: Alex Kidd In Miracle World, Sonic The Hedgehog (different game to the Mega Drive version) and Golden Axe Warrior to name but a few. This model accepts cards as well as cartridges but only fit’s an original Mega Drive.

Original R.R.P.£29.99

Power Base Converter II

Much sleeker looking model of the Power Base Converter designed to fit the Mega Drive II, but will also fit the original Mega Drive. The removal of the card slot makes this model a little less compatible than the first version, but it is quite rare to see a boxed one nowadays which makes it a very sought after collectors item.

Original R.R.P. £29.99
